I had such a wonderful time putting together this cake buffet for a wedding last week. It involved more hours than expected, but I pulled it off and the cakes were welcomed by smiles and eager guests.
The morning started off great; for the exception of miscalculating the amount of cream cheese frosting needed and a little mishap with the ganache (all resolved later of course), everything else was perfect. That never happens. Little did I know that the weather and my truck would cause a little setback. In most places, rain would not be a problem, and for me, it's not. Growing up in Texas meant taking on rainy days and more often than not, floods, so I am quite familiar with driving in this type of weather. Arizonans and Snowbirds on the other hand are terrible at driving in rain, so I had to be extra cautious knowing that silly drivers would be out and about. No big deal, I knew I would had to deal with that, but I didn't know my truck that I love using for deliveries because it has so much space would die on me. That's right, a dead battery. Yikes! I ended up taking my car which had its battery replaced earlier last week. If you know me at all, you know that anything driving-related that can go wrong happens in spurts for me. :(
Luckily, everything turned out well and the cakes arrived at the venue all intact and with a few last minute details, I was able to create this beauty. What I love is that I finally had a chance to take better photos of most of my cakes. Yay! You'll get to meet them all over the next couple of weeks.

Absolutely beautiful Jo! The cakes all look delicious...especially the one with the pretty bow and all the strawberries.
ReplyDeleteAZ is hard on car batteries. I've replaced more in the 7 years I've lived here than I ever did in the Midwest.
