Planning a Cinco de Mayo Celebration

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo can be stress-free if you keep it simple. Less is more, right? When planning a party always remember to think practical, use what you already have and if someone offers to help, say yes - that extra bag of ice could free up some time to be used fancying up another part of your gathering.

Now, here are a few tips and ideas to help you spice up your Cinco de Mayo party this year.

Decorations
-Check out this DIY for mini pinatas that can easily be converted into a larger party decoration and activity.
-Upgrade paper flowers you made in elementary school to these hanging paper flowers that add a little more class.

Food
-Lime tortilla chips with a spicy bean salsa is a great alternative to store-bought appetizers. It will bring a little zing to the stereotypical party food.
-Minimize your party workload by providing a taco bar. Guests will enjoy the variety as well as making their own tacos to meet their preference.
-You can never go wrong with my margarita cupcakes.

Drinks
-In addition to water and soda, always offer your guests one specialty drink like strawberry margaritas. It will add a little something extra to your party without breaking the bank.

Music
-Lastly, keep the mood chill by incorporating a little Carlos Santana into your playlist.

I hope my advice helps you plan a smashing party! If you use any of my tips, please let me know. I would love to see and hear about your festive parties.
