Royal Cakes

Photobucket

With the royal wedding ceremony completed, there was only one thing left to do - enjoy delicious cake at the reception that followed. May I present to you Fiona Cairns and her team's amazing creation. This fruit cake was adorned with up to 900 sugar flowers and intricate details that took five weeks to complete. Boy, was it well worth the hard work. And lucky for us, Fiona was so nice as to share the Vintage Glamour Wedding Cake recipe. Though challenging, I think I might try this recipe sometime - maybe for my own wedding anniversary?

The second cake was decadent to say the least and handsome - if you can ever describe a cake that way. Because Prince William is such a huge fan of McVitie's Biscuits, he ask McVitie's to create a cake using their biscuits and a special (secret) recipe from Buckingham Palace's very own kitchen. I wish we knew more details about this cake because it sure looks delish. But, I can still leave you with some other McVitie's recipes that you can try here.
